A New Home for Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity

A New Home for Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity
A new landmark for the community on University Avenue in St. Paul

New-Home-1

Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity’s New Home at 1954 University Avenue in St. Paul

On Monday, February 24, Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity moved into its New Home at 1954 University Avenue in St. Paul. This location is at the intersection of Prior and University Avenues, right on the new light rail Green Line.

Background: Twin Cities Habitat was started in a church basement in 1985. Since then, our volunteers and staff have helped more than 1,000 local families build and buy Habitat homes in 52 communities across the Twin Cities. Our A Brush with Kindness program has helped 1,600 low-income homeowners make critical home repairs.  We’ve educated and counseled thousands of additional families on the responsibilities of homeownership and the steps to avoiding foreclosure. Our New Home is a promise to families and neighborhoods that we will continue our mission of eliminating poverty housing from the Twin Cities for decades to come.

For information sheets on the new building or to arrange a media tour, contact Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity Communications Manager Matt Haugen at 612-305-7126.
