Twin Cities plays host to 2010 Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project
Over 2,000 volunteers partnered with Twin Cities Habitat to build and renovate 26 homes for families in need during the 27th annual Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project. This event was part of a larger nationwide effort to help revitalize communities hit hard by the housing crisis. Building was centered in the Hawthorne Eco Village in North Minneapolis and the Payne Phalen neighborhood on St. Paul’s east side.
The Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project was the culmination of an astounding effort made by Habitat volunteers, sponsors, elected officials and staff. At a press conference in Minneapolis on Wednesday President Carter said, “I’m grateful for what Habitat for Humanity has done for me and people around the world. We are promoting human rights by building homes for people who don’t have them.”
Thank you to everyone who made the Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project a success!
