neighborhood revitalization
Twin Cities Habitat works with communities to acquire and rehab abandoned properties—giving the chance to create and preserve affordable housing in the neighborhoods that need it the most. For the Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project, Habitat is working in the communities of North Minneapolis and St. Paul's East Side.
While we take great pride in our successes, our responsibilities to the community have only increased. The widespread foreclosure crisis demands that we do much more than in the past. Communities have come to Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity and asked for help. They are counting on our leadership and vision to help begin the healing.
Properties that would otherwise be vacant and drain our local and state economies will now be occupied by dedicated, responsible families equipped for success and ready to contribute to the communities in which they live.

We are addressing the foreclosure crisis in a holistic way. In addition to our Homeownership program, we are working on two additional Habitat programs. Our A Brush with Kindness program helps current low-income homeowners with the repairs and maintenance needed to help them stay in their homes. We also provide counseling and advocacy for hundreds of families in danger of losing their homes through our Mortgage Prevention Foreclosure Program.
