Donate Materials and Services

Do you or your company have unused building materials, hardware or related supplies? Excess, discontinued, display, or scratch and dent products? Good quality new or used tools? Are you interested in using your professional skills on site with Habitat? Materials and services donations are a vital part of our mission. You can help by contributing new product as you clear out your warehouse or garage, or by offering skilled labor or construction related services. These donations and discounts help us cut costs and build more housing in our community.

We also do not accept paint, clothing, housewares, furniture, door slabs, unboxed fasteners, certain kinds of lighting, or small lots of lumber, sheathing, siding or shingles.

Donating Materials for the Restore

Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity is collecting inventory for it’s Restore location. For storage reasons, we are accepting only new or like new product, much of which will not fit into Habitat homes for size, style or aesthetic reasons.

Tax Information

Because Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, materials donations are tax deductible under section 170(e)(3) of the tax code.

Donor Recognition

Top in-kind donors are recognized on construction site signage and are publicized in our affiliate newsletter (The Habitat Herald) in magazine advertisements, Annual Report and website, while all in-kind donors for a site are listed in the home's dedication ceremony program. Long-time donors have told us, however, that the best publicity comes from Habitat volunteers working with the donated products on site.
