Housing Matters!

Housing Matters! Build. Think. Act.

This year, Twin Cities Habitat has launched Housing Matters!, an educational program designed to engage volunteers, supporters and the general public in exploring how together we can create a Twin Cities region where everyone has a decent affordable place to live.

Building Habitat homes is only one part of achieving our vision. Our mission calls us to make decent, affordable housing for all people a matter of conscience. So we are inviting all Habitat supporters to join us in learning and growing in our understanding of the Twin Cities’ housing challenges.

Housing Does Matter!

When families have affordable housing they can concentrate on parenting, employment, and community engagement.

Decent affordable housing benefits all of us. It is a critical component of stable families and strong communities. But currently almost half of households with incomes of $35,000 or less in the Twin Cities are paying more than they can afford for housing. The more we learn about this topic, the more successful we will be in creating solutions. And as we share what we learn, we will be able to bring housing to the hearts and minds of our entire community.
