Susan Haigh, President & CEO
Susan Haigh served nine years as a Commissioner for Ramsey County. She represented District 4 from 1994-2004. As County Commissioner, she championed affordable housing for working families including establishing a Housing Endowment Fund in 2000. This fund was a $5 million dollar incentive program to spur construction on affordable rental housing in the County. Additionally, as a church elder, Haigh helped direct use of the Houses of Hope Fund, a $4 million dollar affordable housing fund that had been raised by the congregation in 2000. She also spent eleven years managing the 250-employee Ramsey County Attorney’s Office and its $20 million dollar budget.
Her passion for affordable housing, along with her managerial, financial and leadership skills, are perfectly suited to the mission of Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity as the organization explores more innovative ways to manage housing development costs while fulfilling their commitment to build at least 50 homes a year for 50 families throughout the metro area.
Haigh is a graduate of Macalester College with a BA in Political Science. She holds a J. D. Degree from William Mitchell College of Law. She is married to Judge Gregg Johnson. They have four daughters and reside in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Alan Raymond, Senior Vice President, Programs & Services
Alan Raymond is an architect by training with a background in construction, community development, real estate and land conservation. Raymond joined Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity in 2005 following 15 years with the Trust for Public Land (TPL). At TPL, Mr. Raymond served as Director of Projects for the Central Region, overseeing land acquisition for parks and open space throughout 14 states of the central U.S. Prior to 1990, Raymond worked for 15 years in housing and community development in the Twin Cities as an architect, construction manager, real estate developer and consultant. He also served as President of Shelter Resources, Inc., an architecture and construction management company. At Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity, Raymond is responsible for all programs and services including real estate purchase and sale, construction, volunteers, family services, mortgage foreclosure prevention, the warehouse and A Brush with Kindness, which uses volunteers to do home maintenance for low income and elderly homeowners enabling them to stay in their homes.
Raymond received his Bachelor of Architecture from the School of Architecture at the University of Minnesota. He received his MBA in Finance from the University of Minnesota Carlson School Of Management.
Robert White, Vice President, Chief Financial OfficerRobert White had been involved in affordable housing since 1982 as Vice President of Finance for a Fortune 500 home building and mortgage finance corporation. He also served as Vice President for a high growth INC. 500 manufacturing company for nine years. He joined Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity in 2001.
White serves as Board Secretary for Habitat for Humanity of Minnesota, a state support organization and CDFI providing affiliate debt funding. He is involved in non-profit accountability issues and serves on other non-profit committees.
White’s financial experience includes: Construction accounting, cash management, financial reporting, placing publicly traded mortgage-backed bonds, sale and pledging of mortgage notes. His experience as a leader includes: Starting a construction finance division of a Fortune 500 company; integrating corporate acquisitions and turnarounds; managing the success of a high growth national manufacturer; developing and growing the Minnesota Habitat SSO which has loaned $30 million to state Habitat affiliates.
White is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a B.S. in Accounting, has earned Certified Public Accountant and Certified Cash Manager certificates. He received his MBA in Management from the University of St. Thomas.
Nancy Q. Brady, Vice President, Resource Development and Community Relations
Nancy Q. Brady has 15 years of nonprofit leadership experience including overseeing capital campaigns, corporate relations, special events management, donor cultivation, grassroots fundraising and strategic marketing. In Minnesota, Brady’s nonprofit fundraising experience includes leading successful capital campaigns for Neighborhood House and the Minnesota Children’s Museum.
Prior to moving to Minnesota in 2000, Brady spent ten years in a variety of marketing positions at the national office of the March of Dimes. Most recently she was the national director of strategic marketing. In this role she helped the organization establish and promote its brand identity and begin to develop an organization-wide relationship marketing strategy. Before going to the March of Dimes, Brady was a team manager at Greenwich Associates, a business strategy consulting firm, based in Greenwich, Connecticut, where she managed the development of annual syndicated market research projects in the domestic and international banking industry.
Brady holds a master's degree in Business Administration from New York University and a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Illinois. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honorary Society. She lives with her husband, daughter and son in Woodbury.
