Habitat returns to city, county of Anoka PDF Print E-mail

Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity is committed to building in all sectors of its seven-county metro service area, including the suburban communities of Anoka County. With this in mind, TCHFH is proud to announce that it is returning to the city of Anoka with plans to build two new single-family homes on Franklin Street just north of the Mississippi River. These two homes will be the fifth and sixth homes that TCHFH has built in Anoka.

The houses are being constructed on two vacant lots and will contribute to the residential quality of the area. One of the homes will be a four-bedroom house and the other will have five bedrooms. Architectural features will conform to the neighborhood and one of the homes will have a pleasant wraparound porch.

The land was acquired thanks in part to generous contributions from a private donor, as well as a grant from Anoka County HOME.

Infrastructure work has been completed, construction is underway, and the houses are on schedule to be completed and sold in early 2007. Opportunities to volunteer onsite are still available. So, the next time you are in Anoka and hear the sounds of hammers ringing into nails, you may just be hearing music the Habitat way!
