Largest Anoka County Habitat development coming soon PDF Print E-mail

Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity has sold homes or is currently building them in 36 cities across the metro area. The City of Ramsey is poised to become number 37. TCHFH has recently negotiated the rights to purchase 24 pad-ready lots from a local developer and construct three 8-unit townhomes in 2007, 2008, and 2009.

This latest addition to the Habitat family will be a part of the Ramsey Town Center Gardens, very close to the planned Northstar Commuter Rail station in Ramsey that will allow families quick and easy access to downtown Minneapolis without requiring them to drive even a single mile by car. Additionally, the development has access to local trails and is less than two miles from the Mississippi.

While Ramsey is definitely further away from the urban core than many homes Twin Cities Habitat has sold, the changing dynamics of the region make this an exciting opportunity.

Many new jobs in the service and industrial sectors are moving into Ramsey and Anoka County. Additionally, the Metropolitan Council lists Ramsey as one of the ten cities in the seven-county area with the greatest need for new units affordable housing prior to 2020. TCHFH is happy to help the city meet this need.

If all goes well, construction could begin on the first units as early as March or April 2007.
