Sarah Andersen named 2007 Community Builder of the Year PDF Print E-mail

Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity is pleased to announce that Sarah Andersen will be presented the 2007 Community Builder of the Year award at the Hard Hat and Black Tie Gala on May 5. Sarah has been involved with Habitat for over two decades and has contributed to our work as a construction volunteer, philanthropist, and dedicated supporter of our mission and the families we serve.

In 2003, as Andersen Corporation celebrated its 100th anniversary, it launched the 100 Years/100 Homes project with the goal of building 100 houses during a five-year period.  As a construction volunteer Sarah has worked on 75 of these building sites to date across the country, as well as on several local Habitat builds, including WomenBuild and CEOBuild homes.

Sarah’s philanthropic involvement currently includes her role as president of the Hugh J. Andersen Foundation, President of the Board of the Girl Scout Council of St. Croix Valley, and director of the Wilder Foundation.  She is also an active community volunteer with the American Red Cross, People’s Congressional Church, Valley Outreach Food Shelf, and other local organizations.
