Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity uses volunteer labor to assist in building homes with and for low-income families. Property Maintenance Volunteers help in the maintenance of lots before construction begins and when construction commences.

Volunteer Impact

This job is critical because the volunteer keeps newly laid sod, landscaping, and grass seed alive from the moment construction ends to the moment that homebuyers become owners.

Skills

Ability to water and mow during the spring, summer, and fall. Volunteers will also assist with snow removal in the winter. The volunteer must have a flexible time schedule and be able to work on an on-call basis.

Age Requirements

The minimum age requirement to volunteer alone is 18.

Time Commitment

Very flexible. Days or evenings, work week or Saturdays and Sundays.

Training and Supervision

On-site training will be provided.
