AmeriCorps Construction Volunteer Facilitator PDF Print E-mail

This position is full-time (40 hrs/week)

Construction Volunteer Facilitators are assigned to a staff Site Supervisor to form the leadership teams for volunteer groups. Volunteers are scheduled weekly on Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity construction sites throughout the year. Construction Volunteer Facilitators help the organization provide positive and meaningful experiences for its volunteers. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Lead on-site educational activities with volunteers
  • Supervise volunteers and homebuyers while sharing in completing construction tasks
  • Train volunteers in safety and tool usage
  • Participate in AmeriCorps related trainings and projects

 

ELIGIBILITY & QUALIFICATIONS

Members must certify and have documents to prove that they are a U.S. citizen, national or legal permanent resident, that they are at least 18 years-old, have a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Members may serve only two AmeriCorps terms in any AmeriCorps program(s). DURATION OF COMMITMENT

The program year is September 2nd, 2008 – August 14th, 2009.  Members serve approximately 40 hours per week to achieve the minimum requirement of 1,700 service hours.
