AmeriCorps Individual Volunteer Coordinator PDF Print E-mail

This position is full-time (40 hrs/week)

The Individual Volunteer Coordinator acts as the primary point of contact for individuals wishing to volunteer with Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity (TCHFH).

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Lead new volunteer orientations
  • Help volunteers get engaged in the positions of interest to them
  • Support and participate in several TCHFH's special events
  • Communicate with other staff to assess the organization's volunteer needs
  • Maintain individual volunteer database and records
  • Participate in AmeriCorps related trainings and projects

The Individual Volunteer Coordinator also organizes and facilitates activities for National Volunteer Recognition Week and May Program (a program which TCHFH partners with local high schools) and provides support in the planning of other special events such as the Volunteer Recognition Celebration. Candidates should have a desire to work in an office setting and with a variety of people. 

ELIGIBILITY & QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate must certify and have documents to prove that they are a U.S. citizen, national or legal permanent resident, that they are at least 18 years-old, have a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Members may serve only two AmeriCorps terms in any AmeriCorps program(s). DURATION OF COMMITMENT

The program year is September 2nd,  2008 – August 14th,  2009. Members serve approximately 40 hours per week to achieve the minimum requirement of 1,700 service hours.
