This position is full-time (40 hrs/week)

The A Brush with Kindness Volunteer Facilitator will have the opportunity to learn and perform various painting and construction tasks as assigned by site supervisor. The A Brush with Kindness Volunteer Facilitator will enable Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity to provide more opportunities to engage volunteers and help homeowners continue to live in a safe and decent home.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Provide support to the Site Supervisor, A Brush with Kindness volunteers and homeowners in the painting and rehabilitation of the existing homes of qualified low-income homeowners
• Help prepare the work site for volunteer activities 3–5 days per week
• Lead crews of volunteers and homeowners on site
• Assist in assigning tasks
• Participate in AmeriCorps related trainings and projects

ELIGIBILITY & QUALIFICATIONS

Members must certify and have documents to prove that they are a U.S. citizen, national or lawful permanent resident, that they are at least 18 years-old, have a high school diploma or GED and possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Members may serve only two AmeriCorps terms in any AmeriCorps program(s). For this position, we are looking for applicants who have prior painting and/or construction experience. 

DURATION OF COMMITMENT

The program year is September 2nd, 2008 – August 14th, 2009. Members serve approximately 40 hours per week to achieve the minimum requirement of 1,700 service hours.
