Several top musicians from the Minnesota Orchestra, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and Minneapolis Guitar Quartet will use their musical talents to help others use hammers and saws to build homes for those in need. The “Harmony for Habitat” benefit concert to be held Sun. November 11, 2007 at 3pm in south Minneapolis will raise money for Habitat for Humanity. A wine and dessert reception with opportunities to meet the musicians will follow the concert.
The concert features music by Beethoven, Schumann, Beaser and Piazzolla and includes donated performances by 13 acclaimed orchestra members. The intimate setting – St. John’s Episcopal Church at 4201 Sheridan Ave. So. in south Minneapolis – will provide a thrill for any music lover, as the relatively small sanctuary puts all attendees in close proximity to the musicians.
Tickets are $25 for open seating, $50 for reserved seats and children are free. Ticket prices are minimum donations, additional contributions are welcome. Call volunteer Don Hawkinson at 612.922.9223 for tickets. |
