Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity is poised to receive a significant award this morning. On hand for the 11 a.m. announcement in Chaska will be First Lady Mary Pawlenty, Met Council Chairman Peter Bell, Chaska Mayor Gary Van Eyll, Habitat President Susan Haigh and Commissioner Timothy Marx of the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency. The award, totaling $1.4 million, is described by Habitat as being for "strategic land acquisition."
