Communication & Events - HHBT Committee PDF Print E-mail

Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity needs volunteers to serve on the event committee for the Hard Hat & Black Tie Gala that takes place each spring. Volunteers will serve on the committee to help attract sponsors, increase individual attendance, collect silent auction and raffle items, assist in the execution of the silent auction and help develop new sources of income.

Volunteer Impact

The Hard Hat & Black Tie Gala and other fundraising events are essential to help Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity achieve its mission. Events help raise money to construct affordable homes for families in need. Events also help educate the public about the need for affordable housing and how our mission permanently changes lives and improves communities.

Skills

Volunteers who have marketing, Public Relations/Advertising backgrounds or skills or connections to the philanthropic community.

Age Requirements

Only adults are allowed to serve on committees.

Time Commitment

Volunteers should make a time commitment of one calendar year. The committee meets one evening a month, and sometimes more frequently as the event date nears. Opportunities for involvement are always available, but most of the planning begins in September and October.

Training and Supervision

Volunteers are required to attend an orientation with the Individual Volunteer Coordinator. A Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity staff person then supervises the committee and the event.
