Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity welcomed the Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) Board of Directors during the week of October 22-26, 2007. The HFHI Board of Directors has 28 members from all around the globe, including former Arkansas First Lady Janet Huckabee and Chairman Nic Retsinas, Director of Harvard's Joint Center for Housing Studies. The board oversees the operations and direction of Habitat's work around the world. Twin Cities Habitat was chosen to host the biannual meeting because it is a national leader among Habitat affiliates. Retsinas completed his term as HFHI board chair during this event, with Ron Terwilliger assuming duties as the new chair. During their visit to the Twin Cities, HFHI board members spent a day working on a Habitat for Humanity home in Plymouth and toured several Twin Cities Habitat build sites in Minneapolis. |
