Habitat homeownership applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Living in the Twin Cities area for at least one year

  • Meet Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity income guidelines and credit standards*

  • Learn about and accept the responsibilites of homeownership

  • Attend all Habitat homeowner training

  • Contribute 300-500 hours of work toward the construction of Habitat homes

If you believe you meet the eligibility qualifications and income guidelines, the next step is to attend a Habitat Homebuyer Pre-Application Orientation.

There you will learn more about Twin Cities Habitat's process and what to expect if you decide to apply.

Meetings are held throughout the Twin Cities Metro area.

You must attend an Orientation session in order to apply for a Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity home.

*Worried about Credit? Twin Cities Habitat does not require perfect credit. We consider families who demonstrate the ability to make regular payments on their bills.
