Construction volunteers raise a wall panel as a team.Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity builds affordable homes throughout the entire seven county metro region using volunteer labor. We are both the builder and banker for these homes and are committed to selecting and training the partner families to become good homeowners and neighbors.

Our new home construction creates housing for those who have never owned a home before and puts them on a path of new opportunities. The effort to build a new home (or an extensive remodel) is considerable and it takes time, but the rewards of seeing a well made home are inspiring.

In the past, much of our building was concentrated in the core cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, but as opportunities to purchase affordable land along with the growth of jobs has moved to the suburbs, so have we. Volunteering to build a home may mean working on a townhome of up to eight units in a suburb, and it may mean working on a single family home in the city or vice versa. All of our models and locations put families in housing and are key to fulfilling our mission.

By building a Habitat home you can create an affordable home where none existed and work with the homebuyers to help change their lives.
