Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity began its second phase of building homes for low-income families Monday in the city of Ramsey.
Habitat for Humanity has set out to build 32 homes over four years. Each year, volunteers will build eight.
People are starting to close on and move into homes built the first year of the project, said Sharon Rolenc, a spokeswoman for Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity.
The average cost to build a Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity home is $182,100, Rolenc said.
Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity and Wells Fargo are the lead sponsors. Habitat Partnership of Northwest Anoka County is providing volunteers and helping with fundraising.
