Habitat For Humanity builds green (KARE-11) PDF Print E-mail

Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity is going green. Last month the non-profit organization broke ground on what will be the first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified Habitat for Humanity house in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area, located in Crystal.

The organization is hosting a kick-off celebration on Tuesday, September 30 to showcase the project and its partners, sponsors and volunteers.

Habitat For Humanity says for more than a decade, the organization has tried to build "green" houses, but says this project will push the envelope in green building and sustainability.
