WomenBuild is a Habitat for Humanity program that encourages women and girls to flex their muscles, develop new skills and help transform communities by building decent, safe and affordable homes for hard-working, low-income families.

Since 1998, WomenBuild crews have built more than 1,200 Habitat homes around the world. Each year, at least 150 homes are added to the list as Habitat affiliates, donors and sponsors discover the impact that women can make when they join together to tackle the issue of substandard housing.

WomenBuild

  • addresses the affordable housing crisis and demonstrates that women from all backgrounds can actively work together to solve this problem.
  • supports the mission of Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity by creating homeownership opportunities for families in need.
  • provides the opportunity for women to participate in all aspects of home construction in a supportive, empowering environment. This experience will increase the number of women working to meet the organization's growing construction goals.
  • provides women the opportunity to participate in a women-led initiative. Men will have responsibilities with this project and will be welcomed on site and at events and meetings associated with WomenBuild.
