What is Women Build?
Women Build projects offer a unique approach to eliminating poverty housing in the Twin Cities. Women provide the funding and volunteer labor for an entire home build- from raising the first wall to landscaping. Each of the two Women Build homes is managed by an experienced woman site supervisor from Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity. This year we also have, for the first time, a woman as the Project Manager! Women Build is women empowering women to make a difference for families in this community.

What’s a Team Leader?
A Team Leader is responsible to recruit a team of 12 -16 volunteers and sponsor the day’s work. It’s as easy as bringing a group of friends or co-workers out to volunteer for a full day on a construction site (8:30 to 4:00). We’ll provide you with all the support you need to make this a great experience for you and your team! You don’t need any construction experience. We’ll teach all that you need to know.
What about the funding part?
We ask that our Team Leaders Raise $1,500 and submit donations to the affiliate to support the day’s work. But don’t let this part deter you- we will give you lots of support to be successful, and this will never hinder you from putting together a group together to support Women Build!
“I wasn’t worried about finding enough friends to build, but I wasn’t sure I could raise the amount necessary to sponsor a build day. With the Friends Asking Friends service and the encouragement from the Habitat staff we raised $650.00 more than we needed!” – 2012 Women Build Team leader
