A Builder Page Plan of Attack

A three step approach to planning your Builder fundraising page to help support Twin Cities Habitat on Give to the Max Day. We took all the stress out of fundraising and provided our helpful tips!

Habitat Builders are individuals with a drive to help Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity leading up to Give to the Max Day. They will contact their friends and family and encourage them to donate to Twin Cities Habitat and compete to raise the most money for Give to the Max Day for a chance to win BIG PRIZES like Visa Gift Cards or an apple watch!

Once you pledge your support as a Habitat Builder, we want you to feel equipped and confident to tackle your fundraising efforts, which will help more local families and homeowners! Below are the three helpful steps to plan your fundraising approach leading up to Give to the Max Day on November 12, 2015. We did the research and came up with the steps needed to make the most out of your fundraising efforts!

1. Channel Choice

How will you reach your network? Face-to-face, email, or social media? When directing your friends and family to your online fundraising page, the key is to choose what you feel comfortable with. All of these options have benefits, but make sure you feel confident in your approach! If you aren’t comfortable posting on Facebook, a one-on-one meeting is a good alternative! Keep in mind who you might reach out to about your page. If you plan to only share your fundraising page through one channel, who might you be missing?

2. Choose your Audience

Use your heart to uncover what motivates you to support Habitat for Humanity. Is it the ability for children to grow up in a stable community? Maybe you believe everyone should have access to a safe home? This will fuel your passion. Now it’s time to use your head. Who do you know who shares the same passion? Approach those who feel the same way about housing. Anyone can say they support deserving families who become homeowners, but who feels passionate about the freedom and health benefits of a new home?

Heart + Head= Passion + Donations

3. The Ask

Most people are looking for ways to make an impact in the world. Some people don’t have the time to devote toward non-profits but still want to make a difference. Look at fundraising as not asking for a gift, but giving one. You are offering an easy avenue for your friends and family to make a contribution to improving the lives of others!

And remember you aren’t asking for yourself – you’re asking for a local family like the Harts!
