September 28 to October 10, 2012

Twin Cities Habitat staff members are leading a group of 18 volunteers to the province of Gaza, located north of the capital city of Maputo. Team members will **have the opportunity build a safe, decent and affordable home alongside a partner family** and learn about the current need for affordable housing in Mozambique. Team members will spend roughly 7 days working alongside Habitat for Humanity Mozambique homebuyers and staff towards the completion of a new home. We will eat typical Mozambican food, **get a chance to experience daily life in Mozambique** and meet the local Habitat staff and home-buying families. This truly is a one-of-a-kind experience! **The estimated cost per participant is $1,750 plus airfare. **The team will be led by two experienced Habitat Global Village Team Leaders. There are not any language requirements to participate—interpreters will be provided!** Your costs will cover (among other things) food, lodging, in-country transportation, interpreter fees, and the great experience getting to know the families in Mozambique. **

**We are excited to see the work that Habitat for Humanity Mozambique is doing first-hand. **Habitat Mozambique is a rapidly expanding program particularly focused on providing housing in partnership with the most disadvantaged groups. A significant element of the program is emergency housing for orphans and vulnerable children, who have lost one or both parents, usually to HIV/AIDS.
