Thank You for Supporting Habitat's Emergency Ukraine Response

Your support is making a difference.

When Habitat for Humanity International put out the call to provide aid for Ukrainian refugees, Twin Cities Habitat supporters stepped up in a big way. We hit our initial goal of $25,000 in less than 24 hours—but instead of stopping there, we decided to see how much we could raise. We have now sent just over $110,000 to Habitat's Emergency Ukraine Response.

This support goes to Habitat affiliates and partner organizations on the ground in Poland, Romania, Hungary, and Slovakia. All gifts have been combined and sent directly to Habitat for Humanity International to be distributed to our partners in Eastern Europe. Gifts supported many efforts, including:

  • Hotel vouchers for Ukrainian refugees

  • Emergency travel kits for refugees that include power banks, sim cards, masks, transportation vouchers, and more

  • Space heaters at transition centers near the Ukrainian border

  • Partnering with host countries to create more affordable rental housing and permanent housing solutions for refugees

If you gave to our Emergency Ukraine Response, THANK YOU! If you're still looking for a way to support, you can give directly to Habitat for Humanity International's Disaster Response Fund.

“Hope you and your team are doing well. Susan Yow let us know about the great effort from Twin Cities Habitat in support of the Habitat for Humanity Ukraine response. I was in Romania and Poland earlier this month and the needs of the refugees fleeing the conflict is significant. This gift will go a long way in leveraging Habitat for Humanity experience as we seek to grow the available housing stock for Ukrainian families in the border countries. Please extend our thanks to the board and staff of Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity.”

-Rick Hathaway, the Area Vice President for Europe and Middle East at Habitat for Humanity International

“We at Habitat for Humanity continue to pray for the people of Ukraine as we watch the disturbing images of deadly attacks on the country. We are deeply concerned that the violence will claim more lives and force more families from their homes.

As an organization that builds homes, communities and hope, Habitat for Humanity is calling for an end to the violence that threatens all three.”

-Jonathan Reckford, CEO of Habitat for Humanity International
