Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity Blog

A Different Kind of Beginning

Every Habitat home dedication is unique in its own way, but the one held on December 12 was incredibly special for the home's sponsor - Ryan Companies. This year, Ryan Companies took the big step to be the main sponsor and volunteer team for the entire build!

Being a sponsor requires dedication and support, not only financially, but also from the company's employees - and we want to recognize how special of a commitment this really is.  To get an idea of how much that is, Ryan Companies provided more than 350 volunteers for over 2,625 hours during the course of the build.

After several months of supplying daily teams, raising walls, and hammering away, they did it! Thanks to the wonderful committee that made it all happen: Brenna Lindquist, Lucas Larson, Kat Grengs, Britta Ryan, Kathy Jalivay, and Isaac Accola.

Ryan Companies' build was over, and they had a beautiful new house for a local family that completed all the steps to partner with Habitat and buy the home.

But wait, what do we see? That's right, another Habitat home! You may recall it from neighboring Site Supervisor Ashley's blog, but the best thing about these homes is the mini-community they created.

Last week, we welcomed both families home and they became neighbors with more in common than the area they chose to live. They will move forward together as neighbors, friends, strong community partners, and family in Habitat. There's nothing better than that.

If you're interested in seeing the mission of Twin Cities Habitat come to life, attend a dedication! They are open to the public, and always a fun event to welcome families home.
