Coon Rapids New Construction Kicks off on Larch Street

This new construction build on Larch Street in Coon Rapids has a unique past.  The lot used to home to an old dilapidated structure that sat vacant for years.  Then Habitat partnered with the city to purchase the land and the local fire department staged a controlled fire to do away with the old home.

Now Habitat volunteers from Wells Fargo are busy framing the first floor of this four bedroom rambler.  If you move to the other side of the lot you’ll find others prepping the garage for siding installation.  Wells Fargo plans to be on site for a month then two more local congregations will take it from there for the remaining four weeks.

“It’s been a good first week out here,” said site supervisor Chad Formo.  “I also found out that we’re planning to purchase the home next door and rehab it”

Wells Fargo is a long-term supporter of Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity. Since 2001, the various 48 Habitat projects that Wells Fargo has contributed to in Minnesota totals more than $3.2 million. Plus their team members have helped build more than 260 homes.
