Builder's Circle members support preservation of affordable housing

There’s a reason they call it the Builder’s Circle.

Members of Habitat’s special leadership giving society donate $1,000 or more each year. But many also put their hammer where their money is, contributing many volunteer hours on the build site.

“Most everybody has been on site many, many times so they have a lot of experience. I just kind of point them in the right direction and they go,” said Site Supervisor Floyd Hansen.

This week, members are working on a Case Avenue rehab in St. Paul for Builder’s Circle Build Week.

Interior demolition was complete by Tuesday morning, Floyd reported. Volunteers were working on reconfiguring the interior walls, adding a subfloor and removing and rebuilding the outside sheathing. It was the second week of work on the rehabbed home; the Faegre, Baker and Daniels Law Firm volunteered the first week.
