'Spring' into action and volunteer with Habitat!

It’s that time of year again – today is the first day of spring! It might not feel like spring yet, but here at Habitat we are moving toward the summer months, and that means some new volunteer opportunities! In addition to our year-round opportunities (Home Building, Home Repair, Home Interviewer, ReStore), we have some up and coming opportunities that are especially important in spring. Check them out!

Cookie Bakers Like to bake? You may want to consider becoming a cookie baker for Habitat! Thanks to our talented and generous cookie bakers, we are able to thank our construction volunteers. We ask for 2-4 dozen cookies a few times a year.

*We are in need of cookies for National Volunteer Week, April 6th – April 12th. Email volunteer@tchabitat.org if you’re interested in baking cookies for this special event!

Hard Hat Black Tie Gala: On the evening of Saturday April 12th, we will host our annual Hard Hat & Black Tie Gala at the St. Paul River Centre. We are still looking for volunteers to help us with gala set-up tasks during the 9:00am – 2:00pm shift. If you have questions or are interested in helping, please send an email to volunteer@tchabitat.org. *Lunch & parking vouchers provided.

Landscaping: Starting in spring (once the warmer spring weather gets here!), we will have landscaping days at our finished Habitat homes. These days are a fun way to put the final touches on the houses. All work is done outside and can include planting of flowers and shrubs, pruning trees, and laying sod. All projects are done with Master Gardeners from the University of Minnesota. Check out http://volunteer.tchabitat.org/ for landscaping days!
