2025 Rainbow Build Recap

Written by Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity | 9:20 PM on October 15, 2025

In August, Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity celebrated its 11th annual Rainbow Build. During three build weeks, more than 130 volunteers spent their days helping build a home in Bloomington. Rainbow Build is one of Habitat's special build weeks, bringing individuals and corporate teams together to not only build a home but also to learn about housing and issues impacting the LGBTQ+ community.

At Twin Cities Habitat, we have a vision of a more equitable community in which ours is not the only important mission. Supporting other nonprofit organizations' work moves us all toward a more equitable future for the LGBTQ community and many other communities.

This year we were happy to welcome guest speakers from the Aliveness Project, Avenues for Youth, Clare Housing, and Queermunity. During lunch breaks, speakers educated groups about their organization's mission and values, and emphasized the need for community. We thank them for joining Rainbow Build sharing their important work with all of us.

We also thank the more than 130 volunteers who spent the day on a Habitat construction site for this year's Rainbow Build! Each day was a mix of individual volunteers, as well as teams from  US Bank, GF Building Flow Solutions, Seagate, and Bell Bank. We sincerely appreciate their support.
