It was a really nice day out so we were able to do some of the work outside. The house in St. Paul was in need of some extra demolition because one of the exterior walls off the deck ended up being rotten. Everyone was up to the task and tackled their specific projects with high spirits and good attitudes. We worked on installing some insulation and building a soffit over top of the pipes. We also worked on scraping ceilings to get them prepared to be finished later this year. At noon we took a break for lunch, and I brought in Jimmy John’s as I do for all of our Veteran Builds. It is a nice way thanking Veterans for their previous service, as well as their continued service to country and community. We look forward to continuing these builds about once a month. You can learn about upcoming Veteran Builds or any other Veteran- related events on our Veterans Initiative webpage.
Programs and Services for Veterans
We have been working hard to get the word out about the Veterans Initiative here at Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity, but we can always use some help. If you know of any Veterans who could benefit from becoming a homeowner in an affordable manner, or any Veteran homeowners who are having trouble keeping their house in tip top shape because of financial circumstances or disability, please feel free to contact Alex Schueller at 612-305-7117.
