Many Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity supporters choose to include a donation in their wills and trusts as an important way to have long-term impact, without any upfront cost during their lifetimes. Planned giving is for everyone who wants to build a legacy, regardless of age or income. Making a will is one of the most impactful ways to extend your love and generosity for your families and friends. It can also help build homes and foundations to thrive in your community.
It’s easy to get started with this secure online tool. There is no cost, we offer this fast and free online tool as a gift to you. If you have a simple estate, you can print your legal will to be signed and witnessed. If you have a more complex estate, the same tool will help you document your wishes to finalize with an attorney near you.
Specify within your will the amount or percentage of your estate you’d like to leave (if any) to Twin Cities Habitat and other causes important to you. Gifts of real estate are also welcomed. Habitat staff know land and property, and your home could make a bigger community impact than you ever thought possible.
Rest assured knowing that your plans are in order and you’ll be making a positive change for generations to come.
If you’d prefer to go straight to an attorney to draft your will and you choose to leave us a gift in your will, we suggest the following language:
“I give, devise, and bequeath to Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity, Inc., a non-profit corporation located at 1954 University Ave W, St. Paul, Minnesota, _____ percent of my estate as an unrestricted gift. Tax ID: 36-3363171.”
Once you have made plans for a legacy gift, please let us know. We would be honored to have the opportunity to thank you. We would also like to make sure we can fulfill your wishes, while respecting your confidentiality.
There are many planned giving options available, and we’re happy to share additional information with you or your advisor. We’re committed to helping you match your goals with the right gift, whether that is now or whenever the time is right. While Twin Cities Habitat does not offer legal, financial or tax advice, we encourage you to contact email@example.com or 612-305-7137.
