Become a Women Build Regular

Volunteer regularly, learn new skills, and work alongside a groups of women from our community.

What's Involved?

Women Build Regulars have the opportunity to participate during all stages of construction. Your ongoing commitment will have a positive impact on the Women Build program.

Working under the supervision of Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity site staff and AmeriCorps members, you will learn new skills, meet new people, and when comfortable, share your knowledge with other volunteers. Women Build Regulars have lots of opportunity to build all season and commit to volunteering multiple times.

  • Arrive to site on time and stay for the entire day

  • Sign-up for volunteer shifts prior to your time on site (Women Build Regulars have a private sign up system)

  • Listen to and follow instructions given by staff and AmeriCorps members, including all safety guidelines and policies

  • Once you are familiar with the site, assist other volunteers in locating and using supplies and tools

  • After you are trained on, or understand a day's task, you may be asked to help lead small groups of other volunteers to complete it

  • Ability to commit to a recurring volunteer schedule: Women Build regulars typically build on Tuesdays year-round

  • Interest in working alongside diverse groups of volunteers

  • No minimum construction abilities required, but an interest in homebuilding and learning new skills is preferred

  • Excellent listening skills and ability to follow directions given by staff and AmeriCorps

  • Willingness to be a liaison between site staff and less experienced volunteers
