We're building more than homes. We're building a brighter future—and we're building it together.

This past year, you helped Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity celebrate milestone moments and reach bold new goals.

You showed up for the Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project, cheered on the public launch of our Build Forward Together Campaign, and powered record-breaking support for the mission. Together, we broke ground on our largest development ever, grew our groundbreaking Advancing Black Homeownership Program, and helped more families unlock the transformational power of home.

Because of your generosity, we're building forward together. Thank you.

Read on to explore the impact you made possible from July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025.

"You were a critical part of Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity's most impactful year ever...I hope you're proud of all we've accomplished together."

Tony Barranco, Chair, Board of Directors, and Chris Coleman, President & CEO

Build

This year, we built more than homes. We built momentum.

Trusses

From groundbreaking at The Heights to welcoming families into homes across the metro, Twin Cities Habitat’s mission was in full motion.

We reached major milestones, expanded our reach, and made history together through the 2024 Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project — the largest volunteer effort we’ve ever hosted, at the largest development we’ve ever built.

Behind every statistic is a family, a future, and a stronger community taking shape.

Spotlight: Carter Work Project

Twin Cities Habitat was honored to host the 2024 Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project—and it was nothing short of extraordinary. Altogether, 2,252 enthusiastic volunteers representing 38 states contributed a collective 27,749 hours to build homes, provide hospitality, and support events. 64 Habitat homeowners volunteered on site and shared their stories. Together, we advanced the construction of 30 new homes at The Heights— homes that will anchor families in stability and strengthen our community for years to come. Thanks to everyone who made this once-in-a-lifetime event a huge success!

Relive the Carter Work Project

Spotlight: The Heights

After construction at The Heights began with fanfare at the Carter Work Project last fall, incredible progress has been made. Currently, 60 Habitat homes are under construction, almost half of the 147 Habitat homes that will make up this new sustainable neighborhood in Saint Paul’s Greater East Side. The development has also earned LEED Platinum for Communities certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, the highest award possible through the LEED rating system.

Future Habitat homeowners are touring the units and will begin moving in soon. It is a testament to the big-hearted and hardworking community that our largest development ever is rapidly taking shape.

Spotlight: Advancing Black Homeownership Program

Keon was one of the first to buy a home through our partnership with Black Men Teach, a nonprofit to help Black men succeed as elementary school teachers. Now, with his affordable Habitat home in the community where he teaches, Keon can continue his career long into the future. Keon was also one of 111 individuals who participated in our Advancing Black Homeownership Program last year. See the incredible successes of this innovative, groundbreaking program.

Spotlight: Julie's Birthday Build

Longtime Habitat supporter Julie Loomis hosted her tenth annual “Birthday Build” this year. She brought together friends and family to experience the joy and camaraderie of a volunteer day—and she encourages everyone to give it a try.

We need more joy in the world right now. Working together gives us the opportunity to make an impact, and that is the big difference—joy with the impact.”
