What: Two big Twin Cities Habitat events on one day in North Minneapolis
1. The kickoff of a Women Build home at 401 Newton Avenue North at 9AM
2. Minnesota Twins representatives helping repair a tornado-damaged home at 3510 Emerson Avenue North

The Women Build kickoff at 401 Newtown Ave. N. will start at 9am with a short ceremony and remarks from the woman who will be buying the home, Twin Cities Habitat CEO Susan Haigh, State Representative Linda Higgins and others.

Representatives from the Minnesota Twins organization will be volunteering to repair a tornado-damaged home at 3510 Emerson Ave. N. Media availability is between 10:30am-11:30am. Participants will be confirmed late, call the media contact below on Monday morning for last minute details.
Background:
Women Build homes are fully sponsored, built and supported by female volunteers and female Habitat staff. A single mother of two will be buying the home and helping build it. This is the eighteenth Women Build home undertaken by Twin Cities Habitat. The nineteenth Twin Cities Habitat Women Build home will go up in St. Paul this fall.
Twin Cities Habitat is part of the Minnesota Twins’ Hope Week from June 10-16. Members of the Twins will take part in community activities throughout the week. The Twins will recognize and thank Habitat volunteers and families on the field before the game on Tuesday June 12.
