Hello Women Build Wonder Women,
On September 9th, many of us from the Women Build Steering Committee had the opportunity to trade in our office tools for homebuilding tools. We gladly swapped our pens for hammers, our laptops for levels, and our notepads for tape measures.
We were excited to witness the progress on the house and go beyond the home planning stage. On site, we installed doors, pounded in hurricane ties, and prepped the building pad for the next house on the block. Being able to build a home for a family partnering with Twin Cities Habitat was an honor and great reward for us all.
As many of you know, our volunteer committee is made up of dedicated current and past: Habitat staff, team leaders, Women Build regulars, and Women Build volunteers. At the build site, we used our specific skills to complete tasks and enhance our camaraderie. It was inspiring to see our plans come to fruition.
After the home is completed, there will be a home dedication, where the the homebuyer, family members, volunteers, sponsors, and Habitat staff come together to celebrate this exciting accomplishment. If you've never had the opportunity to attend a dedication, I encourage you to come to this incredibly moving and joyous event. Information on the dedication will be sent out in advance and we look forward to seeing you there.
On behalf of the entire Women Build Steering Committee, we thank you for your continued support of this incredible program. We truly could not do what we do without you.
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Shelby, Rhonda, Lori, Michelle, Lisa, CJ, Diane, Sarah, Stephanie, Katie, Amanda, Linda
