Noah Keller, Twin Cities Habitat Global Engagement Program Manager, shares updates from Global Village at Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity. In addition to deep local engagement, Twin Cities Habitat also supports the global mission by partnering with affiliates abroad.
Greetings from Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity's Global Engagement team!
We are humbled and excited to share that in August our amazing group of Global Village volunteers donated more than $15,000. Thanks to a matching gift from another Global Village supporter, the funds raised were doubled for a total of more than $30,000.
Our Global Village Gone Local event brings like-minded international volunteers back together here in the Twin Cities to support our local work while comparing notes from build trips to Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, Ethiopia, and other past Global Village host locations.

Pictured above: The Monday volunteer group at Minnetonka Mills during Global Village Gone Local.
These volunteers also filled three productive volunteer days at the Minnetonka Mills project. Many a porch spindle was painted and many a drywall sheet installed as we did our part building the first two homes in this 10-unit development.
Our 13th Global Village Gone Local event was indeed a success, and we want to once again say thank you to everyone who helped make it so!

One of many benefits to international affiliate partnerships is true sense of community that takes shape across the years and thousands of miles. |
On that note, we are equally excited to share that we are recruiting Global Village volunteer teams for two 2027 trips to the Dominican Republic: February 13 to 20 and April 10 to 17.
The work during these weeklong trips typically centers on replacing sub-standard floors in existing homes with brand new concrete; this simple but impactful improvement helps with health outcomes and durability. We have helped replace more than 30 floors since 2023, and we can’t wait to line up the wheelbarrows and grab the shovels to do more.
Twin Cities Habitat has a long-standing partnership with Habitat Dominican Republic, and we invite you to consider being part of one of these wonderful builds. Please email Noah at noah.keller@tchabitat.org to learn more.
Your gift unlocks bright futures! Donate now to create, preserve, and promote affordable homeownership in the Twin Cities.
