Welcoming Anna Peterson, VP of People and Culture

We are pleased to announce that Anna Peterson has joined Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity as the new Vice President of People and Culture. Anna joins us most recently serving as the Head of People and Culture at the Department of Employment an Economic Development (DEED), leading strategies for 1,500 staff with a lens of equity and human centered design while building and improving the workplace culture.

Anna is an inclusive leader who excels at creating impactful work environments where everyone feels welcome and valued, with key skills leading transformational culture change within organizations. Prior to joining DEED, Anna worked for a decade for the City of Minneapolis Step Up Youth Employment Program. She was the Director of Step Up for four years. Anna was also a 1996 Teach for America Corp Member and taught 7th grade in Shreveport, LA.

Academically, Anna has earned her Master of Education degree at Teachers College, Columbia University and her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.

Anna’s Italian heritage comes through in her love of cooking family recipes and sharing food and stories for hours around a large table. She is a first-generation college graduate. Anna lives in Minneapolis with her spouse Nick. They have two adult children: Violet, a senior at Minneapolis South High School and Leo, a Junior at California State University in Los Angeles.
