blue1A looming framing inspection weighs heavy on the minds of the staff and volunteers at the Edgerton Street build site in St. Paul. It’s now week three of new construction and folks have been busy with everything from putting up roof trusses to installing stairs throughout the inside of the home. In the coming days and weeks volunteer groups will be focused on installing windows and doors as well as siding.

blue2As the weather finally begins to heat up, so are the happenings at Edgerton Street. It’s now week five and volunteers from Travelers are tending to the siding and trim on the front and back of the home. One brave soul got the task of painting the gable and peak, while others finished up the last bits of insulation. As you walk to the back of the home you’ll notice a freshly laid slab where the garage will be constructed in the coming weeks.

It's now week eight out at Edgerton Street and the Interfaith Builders have been busy putting the finishing touches on the siding of the home and painting the inside walls and ceilings. Also completed just a few days ago was the roofing on the garage. This build is slated for a ten weeks but it looks like it's going to be more like 11 with a number of minor projects left to tackle. Next up for volunteers is building the front porch and installing laminate flooring throughout the home.

blue4This East Side home is looking more polished as Week 11 draws to a close. The trim is being finished and the doors are hung. Since our last visit, the siding has been completed, the yard graded and mulched and the sidewalk installed. No more scaffolding here! Health Partners sponsored last week; this week’s volunteers are working hard to complete the front and back porches.
