Women Build Recap: 2025 Season in Review

Women Build Recap: 2025 Season in Review

Thanks to support from hundreds of volunteers, donors, and leaders, Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build program had another inspirational year. Throughout summer and fall, supporters came together and continued to make an impact through volunteer service, dedication to fundraising, and strengthening community on build sites.

Women Build 2025 in Review

Women Build started the 2025 season at A Brush with Kindness projects in Bloomington and Minneapolis. Then the Women Build Regular Crew and individual volunteers helped paint and repair homes in May. Women Build kicked off June at a new build in Columbia Heights, where staff member Rose Tuott led volunteers through early-stage projects. By the end of the month, the framed house started to look like a home.

For most of the season (nearly 40 days in July and August) volunteers continued momentum at The Heights in St. Paul. Women Build helped make progress at this historic site, learning new skills on a variety of sites and projects. Whether for the first time or as a seasoned regular, everyone who stepped on site helped support local families who will experience the lifechanging journey of homeownership at The Heights.

Women Build 2025 by the Numbers

Women Build gathers women from all backgrounds who want to make a real difference for families in our Twin Cities community.

Thanks to efforts from this growing community, we welcomed 536 Women Build volunteers to build sites. These volunteers and other supporters raised more than $175,000 for Twin Cities Habitat. This was made possible thanks to team leaders who brought friends, family, and coworkers to build; folks who donated; those who shared on social media; and supporters who spread the word about Women Build.

In 2025, we hosted 62 Women Build days with 536 unique volunteers serving for 4,101 hours. Of those build days, 43 were led by our inspiring Team Leaders. Six of those leaders served for the first time! These teams also raised $55,000 for Women Build. The top fundraisers were Laurie Lokar’s team, Highland Bank, RSM, and Resideo.

To close the season, we hosted our annual celebration in November. Volunteer Amanda Kern spoke about her inaugural build with friends and family. Amanda’s team (pictured below) exemplified the spirit of Women Build.
